Speaking Treason
00:36
|

An exclusive club to make exclusive kids feel better about themselves,
cause life is so unfair to all of us.
We’ve got these shirts to express our individuality.
And signify that we’re unlike the most.
Have you ever asked yourself
what we are screaming for?
And might this be the reason
why this whole thing is such a fucking bore?

You say you’re nothing like ´em
and I wonder what you mean.
You feign an opposition
cause it makes you feel unique.
When you open your mouth there’s nothing left of it,
Which comes as no surprise
because you’re just so full of shit.
In my book you fucking suck
cause my hardcore still spells punkrock,
and punk means question everything
but you’d rather hang out in the gym.
There ain’t nothing you don’t know,
enlightened by some tv show
We ain’t listening to you,
cause we’ve got that attitude.
And you, you’re all the same,
and we’re all diversity.
And sometimes this feels
like your time has past.
And it’s us who will prevail. We will prevail.
You’re so busy fighting your fight
you forgot what it’s about.
Now what exactly was it
that makes you wanna scream and shout?
Aren‘t you just a priviliged kid
searching for self-worth in the pit?
Well you won‘t take this away from us.
We got that attitude,
And you, you’re all the same.
And we’re all diversity.
And sometimes this feels like your time has passed
And it’s us who will prevail.

The kids won’t beat each other up
and no one will be pushed aside.
Tonight they’re all just smiling faces,
screaming lungs and a hope for things to change.
Still won’t grow up. Still screaming.
We still question everything that you believe in.
Sometimes it’s hard to find a purpose
when things seem like they’ll never change.
Tonight we somehow make a difference
when we’re screaming out against all the things we hate.
Still won’t grow up. Still screaming.
We still question everything that you believe in.
Can’t cope with this routine.
Won’t follow your beliefs,
Cause everything that’s true is wrong
And everything that’s right is this song.
We can’t cope with this routine.
We won’t follow your beliefs,
Cause everything that’s true is wrong
And everything that’s right is in this song.

Same Time Next Year

I try to focus myself
but I can’t make a connection.
Nothing I’ve ever done seems to make any sense today.
I seem to fail at everything I touch.
Maybe I’m asking for too much.
Why can’t I get up from my chair
and start to make things work?
Well I won’t let it wear me down
cause I know ther’ll be a brighter day
that’ll see me standing tall again.
Self doubt and emptiness ain’t nothing new to me,
but will complaining lead me to a place that I would rather be?
This record won’t grow old,
I’ll put it on and I’ll just go,
leave all the cynics wide behind
because they’re moving way too slow.
I’ve got these friends that mean the world
and I know a song that makes things work,
and yeah I know my place, cause I know what I hate.

Scarecrows Don't Talk
01:12
|

You love easy answers to simple questions
cause thinking’s such a drag.
I’m sure it feels nice to know your place
when things are white and black.
You know none of this shit matters
and you don’t care cause politics are gay.
Yet you keep on reproducing all their rules
and standards with every word you say.
Consideration is the worst policy
When all you’re searching for is confirmation.
Your accusations bring the best out of me
Cause they remind me of what I‘ll never be.
Sure, you’ve got all the answers.
Could stupidity be the source of all your self esteem?
Thank you for reminding me of what I’ll never be.

I know it's hard to find a purpose
when cynicism's all around.
But will self-pity do the trick?
Don't ever let it drag you down.
There'll be a light and you'll see things a different way.
You say we'll never change the world.
What else is new? Let's start today.
Sometimes it seems like things will always stay the same.
But if it's us who built this world
it's up to us to make a change.
You'll hear a song and you'l see things a different way.
You say we'll never make things work.
So fucking what? Let's start today.
I know it get's hard to always question every convention.
Your throat gets sore from screaming at a wall.
But can we forget the things we know
and just hold on to tradition?
Or can we just scream until one day the bricks all start to fall?

What We Do
01:20
|
|||
We crossed the bridge where the deep blue sea
meets the wide open sky.
Eternal kids, the perfect soundtrack
and everything felt right.
We played a show to 20 kids were tearing down the hall.
The girls all piled up in the back, I guess you can’t have it all.
Sometimes there ain’t a different place that I would rather be.
I still see how everything goes wrong
and yet things make a little sense to me.
Fuck expectations we can’t live up to, this is what we do.
No matter how bad you don’t want us to, we’re coming through.
And not a single thing we say or do makes sense to you.
